DIIV have returned with their new song “Dopamine.” Much like their 2011 album Oshin, the band resuscitate their shoegaze fashion with this upbeat single, which may explain the title. Zachary Cole Smith’s airy vocals bounce against the sound providing yet another dream pop hit that pushes the threshold, energy-wise.
The band is set to be releasing their album Is The Is Are sometime this year via Captured Tracks, as reported by Fader. In the meanwhile, the band are touring the U.S. and have an opener slot on shoegaze veteran’s Ride’s U.S. tour, on dates ranging the east coast, and have even joined a theater collective’s Kickstarter to help pledges translate their dreams through DIIV’s performances with the theater in the fall.
