David Pajo, best known as the guitarist in Slint, is in the hospital recovering after surviving a suicide attempt.
Reportedly, Pajo attempted to hang himself after posting a harrowing suicide note onto his blog that was directed at his ex-wife. Fans that saw the post and contacted the authorities and Pajo’s family may have saved Pajo.
Fans have also stepped in onto Pajo’s facebook page, where a post was made asking for “our love and support.” Pajo has also posted onto Instagram and Facebook an image of him giving the camera a thumbs up.
Pitchfork, who ran this story, was unsuccessful at hearing back from representatives for Pajo, but did have a more detailed list of groups and artists that has been involved with.
Pajo is best known as the guitarist in Slint, but he’s also played with a long list of other people, including Interpol, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Tortoise, Stereolab, Zwan, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, and Royal Trux. He’s released solo records under the names Pajo, Papa M, Aerial M, and M.
