On February 21, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds were captured live performing one of the first upcoming singles off of their brand new album Push the Sky Away. The song, turned video, titled Mermaids, was directed and recorded by UK artist Lain Forsyth and Jane Pollard at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, California.
Joined onstage by the Silverlake Conservatory of Music children’s choir, the band recreated the entire song as the kids from Sunset Blvd contributed background vocals to sooth the croon of Nick Cave.
This once in a lifetime performance gave way in a celebration of the debut of Push the Sky Away, having reached the highest spot ever for ‘the Seeds’ on a Billboard 200 chart, reeling in at #29 in the U.S. and hitting #1 in six more countries.
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds are on the road for the Push the Sky Away tour where they will be traveling from May until August in venues throughout the UK and Europe.
The tour starts again May 25. Check out the video below and catch the band in one of their live sets this summer for yourself.
