In commemoration of Hip Hop’s 50th year anniversary and celebration of Juneteenth, Live Nation Urban and Mass Appeal announced upcoming festival, Park Jams. This concert will be taking place in Central Park in New York City and has a line up of Hip Hop’s most notable pioneers along with special guests to be revealed. This will all be held June 19th from 4 to 10 pm at the Summerstage, with tickets starting at $25 and have been on sale since Friday, April 21st.

Headlined by DJ and producer, DJ Premier, known as one of the pioneers to the early boom bap production styles in Hip Hop. Working with artists such as Nas, Krs One, Rakim, and many more notable names from Hip Hop’s golden age. Along with Premier, Grandmaster Flash will also be headlining the event and is one of the foundational pieces of Hip Hop production. Founding the  Quick Mix Theory which allowed for rappers to have an easier time to rap over sampled records by looping drum breaks on vinyl. 

Other listed performances such as Kid Capri most popularly known for being one of the earliest DJs on BET and VH1, as well as newer faces such as DJ Nyla Symone who people might recognize from Charlamagne Tha God’s Comedy Central show Tha God’s Honest Truth and Revolt TV’s Off Top.
