American indie band Modest Mouse are doing a tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their second studio album, released in 1997, The Lonesome Crowded West. They’re finishing up here, in New York, at Terminal 5, where they’re playing for two nights.
Modest Mouse consists of Isaac Brock (lead vocals, rhythm, and lead guitar), Jeremiah Green (drums, percussion), Russell Higbee (bass guitar, rhythm guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), and Simon O’Connor (lead guitar, backing vocals). The band formed in 1992, and over the course of their long career, have generated massive critical acclaim and support, to this day, still having over three million monthly listeners on Spotify. The Lonesome Crowded West, the album that they’re touring for, was critically acclaimed upon release as well and is now considered to be one of the best indie rock albums of the 1990s.
