Death Metal’s beloved legendary patriarchs of olde come back to San Francisco! Brutal!
Cannibal Corpse (a term synonymous with the flesh eating zombie) has been around since the late 80’s, you know that. And they’re here to stay ’til death do us part. Check out their Twitter page for more info on tour happenings and the like. They’re headlining (no duh) with openers Dark Funeral, Immolation, and Black Anvil. You know I love metal but man I haven’t been to a metal show in forever. Not since Bay Area Deathfest 4 at the DNA Lounge and that was like what 2018? Something like that, I don’t know? AH! Good times hanging out and taking pictures with some of the band members!
Moving on; do you remember Ace Ventura: Pet Detective? Of course you do because you were born in the late 80’s or prior. And when I say remember I mean actually buying pop and snacks at the concession in your local cinema when the film first was released. Not “hey do you remember” because you steamed it last night on your sterile defective chinese slave labor fruit phone. Anyway, Well we all know this by now but I can’t help but bring up the fact that Cannibal Corpse got so much recognition and fame from that movie alone because of the cameo they made! Remember? Turns out super star Jim Carrey loved Cannibal Corpse so much he personally asked them if they could make a special appearance in the feature film! Who says no to Jim Carrey back in 1994? But in 2022 I know I would! Just saying (shrugs).
It’s that scene where Ace is running through a crowd in a club. Cannibal Corpse is the band playing in the background and they and their music really do get a decent amount of screen time. Look it up on YouTube!
