The second day of Shaky Knees was jammed full of amazing acts. Geese was a pleasant surprise from Brooklyn whose members later came back on stage to perform a Rolling Stones cover with Living Colour (they also performed a Rolling Stones cover in their set). Arlo Parks, the British sensation who blends poetry and sweet soul, then took the stage that was decked out in sunflowers and sunbeams. There was more crowd surfing, a festival theme, at Cloud Nothings, and Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfgang played guitar in a protective boot cast (he sprained his ankle a week ago) and still managed to incite a circle pit. Garbage and Suki Waterhouse were both highlights. The evening only got better with a killer performance by legends Living Colour and a theatrical show from another legend Alice Cooper that included what seemed like a Pirates of the Caribbean theme and a giant Frankenstein monster crossing the castle stage. Finn Wolfhard (the star from Stranger Things) attended Lunar Vacation stage-side, and Idles played an “All I Want for Christmas” cover while the mosh pit exploded. Run the Jewels brought perhaps the largest crowd of the weekend, with the Braves’ grand slam play in the final playoff game gracing the big screen before Atlanta native Killer Mike took the stage and shouted out his hometown. “Legend Has It” was one of the best performances of the festival.
