Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon has announced that he is working on new projects with Alicia Keys, indie band Volcano Choir, and The Shouting Matches, a blue-gospel band. According to Pitchfork, however, we shouldn’t expect another Bon Iver album for at least another three to five years.
Justin Vernon is the front man for Bon Iver, a folk band that Vernon founded in 2007. Vernon himself has collaborated with a number of other musicians. He recently told USA today that he had “a big idea to do an American songbook of the greatest women singers.” So he decided to start with Alicia Keys.
In addition to his collaboration with Alicia Keys, Vernon is working with Volcano Choir, in which Vernon sings with some of the members of Collections of Colonies Bees. In The Shouting Matches, Vernon collaborates with Laarks and Peter Wolf Crier drummer Brian Moen.
