Ethereal and bubbly, Jessy Lanza is a Canadian singer, songwriter, producer, and DJ, who mixes synthpop beats, with lingering soprano vocals, and an R&B flavor. Lanza’s music somehow manages to combine two binaries: chill, lo-fi, and effortlessly cool, with warm, pulsating synth beats. Her vocals, being at the top of the audio spectrum, are used in a lulling whisper that yet remains powerful and ever-present on each track. Lanza studied jazz at Concordia University, and after inheriting several drum machines from her father, began creating beats and collaborating with Jeremy Greenspan in Hamilton, Ontario.

With experimentation, and mastering her drum machines, Lanza created her debut album, Pull My Hair Back in 2013, which cemented her sound, and gained her much renown. In 2015, she released her first EP, You Never Show Your Love. Her next album released in 2016, Oh No is even faster-paced and includes more vocals from Lanza. Her most recent album, All The Time came out July this year which features her singles Lick in Heaven, Face, and Anyone Around. 

Lanza’s music can be equally enjoyed as something to sit back and relax too, or an invitation to give up your inhibitions and dance.
