Fresh off of his first opera Nebuchadnezzar in Los Angeles, Kanye West has upped the ante once again and announced a second opera. This one is called Mary and it’s going to be taking place in Miami at the Miami Marine Stadium on Virginia Key across the channel from downtown.
Yesterday he tweeted the news of the new opera, which was directed by Vanessa Beachcroft and will feature music from his Sunday Service choir, just like Nebuchadnezzar. The tweet included a quote from the bible, Luke 1:30-31: “And the angel said unto her, Fear not Mary: For thou hast found favor with God and, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.” Tickets are now available and cost $20 for elevated bleachers and $60 for general admission/beach tickets.
