One of the three original Elephant 6 projects, along with Apples in Stereo and Neutral Milk Hotel, The Olivia Tremor Control originally consisted of remnant members of Synthetic Flying machine. After disbanding in 2000, and  reappearing on stage at All Tomorrow’s Parties in 2005, a renewed lineup came back together in 2010. Their sound has been described as neo-psychadilia, and largely consists of Bill Doss and Will Cullen Hart’s experimentation. Songs range from seconds to long compositional pieces, often noting dreams as inspiration. Horns, vintage pop melody, warped tape, electronic fuzz, uneven song structure, and ghostly echoes are just a few different facets of noise that can be found on an Olivia Tremor Control compilation. One thing is for certain, hearing this live probably won’t be like anything you’ve yet had a chance to. Unless of course, you just happened to be hanging around in the ’90s alt experimental indie scene when that all went down, in that case, reminiscing will be fun. PS – If you  haven’t had the pleasure, listen to the first new song by The OTC released in a decade. It’s lovely, and makes little sense, but that’s half the fun afterall(via NPR).
