Blur guitarist and singer-songwriter Graham Coxon has released a new track entitled “She Knows,” which will be featured in season two of the Netflix series The End of the F***ing World. Coxon composed the soundtrack for season one of the series, and also composed additional music for this recent score, which will be released on November 8th.
“She Knows,” begins with a more stripped back instrumental with a simple acoustic guitar slowly joined in by drums and a piano, that begins to gradually increase in volume. Several distorted electric guitars soon join in on the instrumental, before it closes out with a simple piano performing the instrumental’s main melody.
Coxon recently performed with fellow Blur band mate Damon Albarn, who is the mastermind behind the Gorillaz, during the Gorillaz Demon Dayz festival in Los Angeles. The two performed “Song 2,” one of Blur’s more popular track within the United States. Albarn has stated that he is interested in possibly reuniting the band for an album together, stating “I really don’t see why not? Why there can’t be another Blur album. We’re all still alive and in reasonable control of our faculties.”
“These thing just happen when they need to happen. We all do different things and then there is going to be one day when it hits us, that is seems like a good idea to do that now,” Coxon explained in an interview with Consequence of Sound. “I don’t think these things can ever be forced into happening… [There will] be a time when the notion comes upon us all, the stars aligned, and we go ‘yeah, why not.’ That’s how it’s always worked, really.”
