Sheffield Indie rockers the Arctic Monkeys released new album Suck It and See in June of this year. Working again with James Ford, it rocks a more pop aesthetic with greater emphasis on catchy melody than prior release Humbug(which included the touch of QOTSA front man Josh Hommes), and was recorded with live sessions giving it a more true to form feel. Monkeys are one of those bands that sounds great no matter where they play, a small sweaty club, or an outdoor festival, and the streets outside Stubb’s are surely going to hear an overspill of concert goers singing along to their fav songs.
Young Buffalo is a great, noisy, booming side project of Bass Drum of Death’s frontman Jim Barrett. Get there early, and check them out as well.
