King’s X canceled its upcoming UK and European tour due to a family emergency. The band put out a statement which reads, “It is with deepest apologies, that KING’S X must announce that the band will be cancelling their upcoming European Tour, including their appearance at the Veruno Prog Rock Festival in Italy, due to a family emergency.”
The statement continues, “We are truly heartbroken that we will not be able to see all of our European fans, as we have been clamoring for these dates since we announced them. We would like to let the fans and all those concerned that the band is okay. Please respect the band’s privacy and please give us some time. We are doing everything in our power to reschedule the tour for 2020. Further details will be announced and news to come on rescheduled dates. Tickets will remain valid for the new dates or refunds can be obtained from the point of sale.”
The band includes members, Doug Pinnick, Jerry Gaskill and Ty Tabor. King’s X has released twelve studio albums, two official live albums and several independent releases. Each member has recorded several solo albums and guest appearances on other artists’ albums, as well as participated in numerous compilation projects. Doug Pinnick and Ty Tabor also have many albums released with side bands in which they participate. Throughout the band’s career, King’s X has opened for bands like Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Scorpions, Pearl Jam, Cheap Trick, and Mötley Crüe as well as the Woodstock ’94 festival.
In the statement about the canceled European Tour, King’s X included the following quote, “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans – JL.”
