The upcoming festival, Lightning in a Bottle is scheduled for May 8 – 12, 2019 at the Buena Vista Aquatic Recreation Area in Kern County. The lineup includes performances by Disclosure, a special 3D experience from Flying Lotus, and Big Gigantic and artists Santigold, Elohim, Gramatik, and Channel Tres.
House and Techno lovers will enjoy performers, Lane 8, Shiba San, Escapade (Walker & Royce + Ardalan), and Luttrell and dozens of other performers. One of the stages (Thunder Stage) will include performances by G Jones, CloZee, EPROM’s Shades Project, and OPIUO.
Santigold recently performed at KCRW’s Halloween party and also released a mixtape-style project with Dre Skull entitled I Don’t Want: The Gold Fire Sessions. Santigold and Dre Skull bonded over their shared passion for Reggae and Afro-Caribbean music during a writing session.
Flying Lotus 3D tour included a sold out show at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery with special guests Thundercat. FlyLo also known as Flying Lotus is an experimental musician, producer, DJ, rapper and filmmaker that continues to break barriers across the thresholds of whatever he gets involved in. He recently released his new music video for song, “Post Requisite” with a trippy video and crazy animation.
The upcoming Lighting in a Bottle festival will include three stages, Lightning, Thunder and Woogie. Dozens of artists will play throughout the 4-5 day (Wednesday to Sunday) weekend. The festival is unique in the sense that the experience includes an entire wellness element, including workshops and discussions meant to enlighten the individual and provide meaningful purpose.
In fact, some of the learning and cultural experiences included in the festival include discussions with world leaders, workshops that feature skill based trades, medicine making, sacred relationships and more. Concertgoers can also restore themselves in the space where world renowned healers and body workers will be available. The cultural offerings space provides one to experience global cultures through ancient practices & earth-based wisdom traditions including dance, music & daily gatherings.
During the festival there will also be food and wellness workshops in the kitchen. Most importantly, The Grand Artique returns to bring back to life their town of Frontierville, featuring a fully immersive Trading Post/General Store, hotel, gypsy encampment and a heavy hitting music line up that will have you ripping up the dance floor deep into the night.
Outside of the dozens of artists playing on three stages, concertgoers have the opportunity to camp, bring their RV and hookups, swim at the lake and attend various art exhibits. There will be activities, including painting, sit down dinners and shenanigans. Lightning in a Bottle festival developed principles for their attendees to follow: Celebrate Life, Create Community, Respect Yourself, Actively Participate, Honor The Land and Practice Good Citizenship.
Tickets are on sale now for the 4-5 day festival. They range from $300.00 and up for the 4-5 day experience. Camping with your RV is a separate fee.
