Amanda Palmer, Erykah Badu, and Michael Stripe are now confirmed to appear at the “Protest Kavanaugh” Event set to take place this Thursday, October 4th in Washington, D.C. at the Barrett Payman Courthouse. Former White House Staff Secretary Brett Kavanaugh has been under fire for multiple sexual misconduct claims made by different women from Kavanaugh’s high school and college years. The event boasts a star-studded lineup, also featuring Alicia Keys, Lena Dunham, John Legend, and Whoopi Goldberg to name a few. According to Billboard, “The gathering follows a national walkout staged last Monday (Sept. 24) in support of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez, who’ve accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct.” Over 20 actors, musicians, authors, and producers will come together for the protest.
A statement provided by the event organizers states “We anticipate a vote on the Senate floor to confirm Brett Kavanaugh as early as Friday. It is critical we make our voices heard on the ground in Washington on Thursday.” For more information on how to join the movement, click here
