Acclaimed producer John Fryer is back with another song from his collaborative Black Needle Noise project, the grinding, and dreamy “UpSide Down.” The song relies on a slamming drum machine beat, spooky synths, harsh guitars, and the super sweet vocals of Beca, who rides over the top of the mix with a memorable vocal line. Since forming Black Needle Noise in 2016, the group has been periodically releasing new music and new music videos that have generated a warm response from fans of dark electronic and industrial music. Previously the likes of Mimi Page (Delirium), Jennie Ve (bassist of Hole), Ana Breton (Dead Leaf Echo), Omniflux (Puscifer), Kendra Frost (Kite Base), and Andrea Kerr (Colt) have been featured vocalists with Black Needle Noise.
Fryer began his career in the UK working with the likes of Depeche Mode, The Wolfgang Press, and Cocteau Twins. He eventually branched out and started working with other artists such as Cradle of Filth, H.I.M., PRAYERS, Swans, and Nine Inch Nails. Fryer has also produced several film soundtracks, including Se7en, Clerks, Johnny Mnemonic, Mortal Kombat, Faust, and Resident Evil: Apocalypse.
