In This Moment has released a music video for “Black Wedding”. This follows the band’s release of Ritual. The music video also features Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, who performed at Las Rageous and currently on a Spring Firepower tour bringing the firepower to the warfield.
As mentioned by the press release, the clip was co-directed by frontwoman Maria Brink and Robert John Kley. According to BlabberMouth, Brink says “it’s pretty common nowadays” for musicians to collaborate on records without actually being in the studio together, “because artists are always doing something — some of them are on tour” or in different parts of the world. “When I did our song on our last album with Brent from SHINEDOWN, it was the same thing — we weren’t in the studio at the same time,” she said. “I wish we could be in the studio at the same time — it feels like it could be more connecting or something like that — but it went down this way. But it doesn’t matter.”
Guitarist Chris Howorth told Metal Wani in an interview that Halford was a natural choice for the track. He says “Maria was doing the lyrics — and it’s almost like a duet, but she’s singing to herself with the mother and the priest and we’re, like, ‘Rob Halford is the priest! He would be the coolest dude ever to have on this song.'” The video brings a dark take on the traditional ceremony.
The video begins with a figure walking down the isle with the wedding song playing. As Brink walks toward Halford, the scene switches to a group of masked woman and Brink walking toward Halford and a group of men walking toward each other. The scenes continue to switch from the band performing to Brink and Halford performing. The video can be watched below.
