Scott Putesky, known as Daisy Berkowitz of Marilyn Manson, has passed away at the ripe age of 49 due to complications with colon cancer. The singer was a founding member to the band and contributed regularly to song lyrics and instrumentals.
In a statement on Instagram, his fellow band member and frontman Marilyn Manson wrote “Scott Putesky and I made great music together. We had our differences over the years, but I will always remember the good times more.”
The group started in 1989 where Berkowitz contributed to several of their major albums like Portrait of An American Family and Smells Like Children. It wasn’t until 1996 that Berkowitz and Manson decided to part ways after “creative differences” during the creation of Antichrist Superstar.
Afterwards, the singer became a part of Jack Off Jill, Godhead, and started a band of his own called Three Ton Gate. Jack Off Jill also posted a statement to their social media, and wrote “Saying good bye to Scoot, friend, band mate, artist, hero…RIP Scott – ‘always touched by your presence dear.'”
