As reported by spin.com, Queens of the Stone Age debuted a new song, “The Evil Has Landed” at their concert at the Rapids Theater in Niagara Falls, New York on Thursday night.
The track is the band’s 2nd song to be revealed off their forthcoming release, Villains, which is set to drop on August 25th. Musically speaking the track remains in the band’s familiar rock style, with plenty of driving guitar riffs and booming drums to complement Josh Homme’s powerful vocal delivery.
The band also played the first single off Villains, the scorching “The Way You Used to Do” along with a hefty set of fan favorites and deep cuts spanning the band’s entire discography.
It was the first concert for Queens of the Stone Age in almost two years and it marks the start of a summer long string of concert dates as the band returns from a hiatus. Villains was produced by Mark Ronson, known for his work with pop acts such as Bruno Mars, Amy Winehouse, Adele and Lady Gaga. It is the first release from Queens of the Stone Age since 2013’s …Like Clockwork.
