Multi-talented artist Amanda Palmer is coming to New York to play two shows–the first at Bowery Ballroom on May 20th and the other at Rough Trade on May 21st. And she’ll be here with Edward Ka-Spel (of The Legendary Pink Dots) who she just recorded an album with called I Can Spin a Rainbow. The album was made possible through Patreon.
Amanda Palmer basically does it all (if you haven’t already heard). She’s a singer, songwriter, blogger, musician. She was part of a musical act called The Dresden Dolls. And her TED talk called “The Art of Asking” has received millions of hits. Her art is quirky, incredibly raw, and invites listeners into another dimension of what’s possible when it comes to self-expression and music. And Edward Ka-Spel also brings forth an interesting twist to the project, infusing it with alternative, mystical layers, and balancing Palmer’s vocals with a serious smoky strangeness.
Their collaborative album is due out in May 5–just in time to pick either the Manhattan or Brooklyn venue to watch their super creative, highly poetic vision come to life.
