Canada’s favorite indie-rockers The New Pornographers are back with a new video for the track “High Ticket Attractions” off their upcoming album Whiteout Conditions.
The upbeat new single will be sure to get stuck in your head as synths and strumming guitars intermix over an up-tempo drumbeat just in time for warmer weather and windows-down cruising.
In the actual video, the music quickly creates chaos in a high school chem lab as two students begin innocently enough tipping over each other’s equipment, however the destruction quickly hits an impressive scale as the entire school devolves into chaos, with students breaking and destroying damn-near everything insight, minus one student who continues his studiying among the chaos (I never got invited to high-school parties either).
Video director Dan Huiting (Bon Iver, Sylvan Esso) said in a statement “I have always wanted to wreck things in music videos. I just never thought I would get a chance to destroy an entire high school”
The new track comes off their forthcoming Whiteout Conditions album, which is set to drop this April 7. They have already released “This is the World of the Theater,” and will be at SXSW this year in support of the new album.
