Over the weekend tragedy struck Avenged Sevenfold’s tour with Disturbed when, according to The PRP, a 19 year old stagehand was the victim of accident breaking down the stage. The band left a statement on their Facebook page explaining the accident. The accident happened after the band’s February 20th show at Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart, Germany. After the show concluded, a 26 year old stagehand fell from the rafters while breaking down the band’s stage. He fell a considerable distance to the floor below, his fall broken by the victim, who died from his injuries. The stagehand that fell survived.
The venue has been in operation since 1983 and it is the first fatality in its history. The band cancelled their next show on February
The show is part of Avenged Sevenfold’s “The Stage” tour, which also features Disturbed. The band will then join on a tour with metal heavyweights Metallica as support on their “Worldwired” Summer 2017 tour. The Orange County metalcore group recently surprised-released their album The Stage in late October. Their previous release was 2013’s critical and commercial hit Hail to the King.
