Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Announce New Album ‘Burned’ For January 2027 Release, Share Lead Single “Fever of the Mind”

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have announced their new album, Burned, to be released on January 29, 2027. This will be their seventh studio album and first new release in six years.

Yesterday was the premier of the lead single for the album, “Fever of the Mind”. A newsletter release from Big Hassle states that “This was the song that sort of thematically and sonically guided the rest of the album,” says Alec Ounsworth. “Maybe the most important thing for me is to establish the first and then shape the other songs around it.”

With a synth opening the track with the beatdrop, the song moves in a spacey and atmospheric direction. The drums guide the synth melodies into the first verse. The lyrics deal with how an overwhelming swirl of emotions can feel almost like a sickness, making it difficult to feel certain or move forward with lives changed. It’s a heavy set of poetry with a very bright and catchy instrumental.
