the Sphere
Metallica has officially entered a new era of live performance, kicking off their highly anticipated Life Burns Faster residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas on October 1. The opening night featured a 16 song set spanning the band’s decades long career, including a highly anticipated return to “…And Justice For All,” performed live for the first time since 2014.
The performance gave fans a chance to experience one of Metallica’s most celebrated songs in an entirely new setting, pairing the band’s massive sound with the Sphere’s immersive visuals and technology. The residency continues the band’s tradition of creating unique experiences for longtime fans, with different setlists planned throughout the run.
Metallica first announced the Sphere residency earlier this year, marking another milestone in a career that continues to draw audiences across generations. [Link to previous mxdwn Metallica story about the Sphere residency.]
