Trentemøller’s new single “Swerve,” featuring Sakura, was released on Sept. 25. The single comes from Trentemøller’s self-titled eighth studio album, set to be released on Nov. 13. “Swerve” was the first single that Trentemøller wrote for the record.
“Swerve” is a pure form of contrast, combining brutality and beauty in a single track. The song features Sakura, who was born in Hong Kong and is based in Vienna. Sakura provides atmospheric vocals that contrast with the hard-hitting riffs and punk aesthetic of the song.
The music video follows the same concept of beauty and brutality, showing Sakura smashing records with a baseball bat and wielding a katana to slice through milk cartons. Rapid editing switches between camcorder footage and highly saturated red and yellow filters, further emphasizing the contrast throughout the video.
The album will contain 10 tracks.
