Andy Williams, the former guitarist of Every Time I Die and pro wrestler by the name of The Butcher, died at 48 years old after collapsing at a wrestling convention in Pennsylvania on September 5.
During the Enjoy Wrestling convention at Mr. Small’s Theater in Millvale, Pennsylvania, Williams competed in a tag team match with his wrestling partner Jesse Guilmette, also known as The Blade. According to Consequence of Sound, Williams collapsed after finishing the match and was given CPR. Williams was taken to Allegheny General Hospital where he passed away. This was confirmed by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The former guitarist of Every Time I Die, Jordan Buckley, after finding out that Williams was taken to the hospital, expressed his concern by asking for people to pray for Williams.
Williams was a founding member of the metalcore band Every Time I Die from 1998. Williams appeared on all nine of their studio albums, including the last release, Radical, in 2021. After which, Williams formed a new band, Atomic Rule.
Williams competed as a professional wrestler on the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) roster with Guilmette — they were known as The Butcher and The Blade — and competed under the roster for seven years until they went independent.
