Butthole Surfers Announce 30th Anniversary Edition Of Electriclarryland For August 2026 Release Featuring Previously Unreleased Track “Valuable Charcoal”

Three decades after releasing one of alternative rock’s most unpredictable and influential albums, Butthole Surfers are giving Electriclarryland the deluxe treatment. The band’s landmark 1996 record is returning on August 28, 2026 as a newly remastered 30th Anniversary Edition, serving as the second release in the relaunched Capitol Record Club series. More than just a reissue, the anniversary package expands the original album with four rare recordings from the Electriclarryland era, including the previously unreleased track “Valuable Charcoal,” making this the most complete vinyl edition of the album ever released.

The new anniversary edition has been newly remastered for vinyl by Levi Seitz. It spreads the album across two 45 RPM LPs, giving the music greater depth, improved clarity, and a wider dynamic range. According to Capitol Record Club, the release has been designed specifically for collectors and audiophiles. Beyond the remaster, longtime fans have plenty of reasons to revisit the record. The expanded edition adds four bonus tracks from the Electriclarryland era, including “Hybrid,” soundtrack contributions “Pottery” and “Whatever (I Had a Dream),” and the long-unreleased “Valuable Charcoal,” which is finally seeing an official release.
