Exclusive U.S. shows! Icona Pop brings The Ritual Tour stateside this fall, kicking off in NYC at Baby’s All Right on September 25th. 

Icona Pop is a Swedish pop duo consisting of friends and former classmates Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo who formed the group in 2009 after meeting at a party in Stockholm. Two years later, they released their debut single, the post-breakup anthem “Manners,” which became an underground hit with its shout-along refrain and synth flourishes. In 2013, they released the massive global sensation, “I Love It,” in collaboration with Charli XCX, which was an instant jump-inducing party hit for the ages revered for its carefree, empowering message and incredibly catchy chorus and went on to peak at No. 7 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart. The song was the first single on the duo’s debut album, This Is… Icona Pop, which kept up their high-energy, hard-partying spirit accentuated by driving electro-house beats and defiant lyrics.

After years and years of intense touring and singles production, the duo released their sophomore album, Club Romantech, in 2023, which they recorded in the same Stockholm studio as their debut. The album embraced self-expression and experimentation as they rediscovered their electronic roots and stepped up their production to make something clubbier and bigger than anything they had released before. Icona Pop will release their new album, Ritual, on August 14th, from which they have released the singles “Ritual” (ft. Daya), “Dance To This,” “Butterfly Feelings,” and “Yellow Top.” The singles reveal a more vulnerable and emotionally grounded side to the artists born out of a stronger bond between Hjelt and Jawo, forged by shared resilience to personal struggles all while continuing the infectiously groovy and forward-propelling energy that has placed the duo at the forefront of global dance music.
