French duo Ibeyi heads out on a North American Tour at the start of next year for their new album, Offering, and will be playing at Irving Plaza on February 10th, 2027.

Ibeyi consists of twin sisters, Lisa-Kaindé Diaz (vocals, piano) and Naomi Diaz (cajón, báta), who were raised in Paris by their parents, established musicians Angá Díaz (grammy-winning Irakere, Buena Vista Social Club) and Maya Dagnino (who serves as their manager). Having a strong connection to Cuba and Yoruba culture (they were born in Havana and visit every year), the duo blends left-field pop and alternative R&B with Afro-Cuban roots music, singing in English, Spanish, French, and Yoruba (often incorporating traditional Yoruba chants into their songs). They released their debut album, Ibeyi, in 2015 through XL Recordings, which paid tribute to their late father and sister. Their 2015 sophomore album, Ash, tackles the volatile political landscape with a blend of bold expression and entrancing experimental R&B and was nominated for IMPALA’s European Album of the Year Award. On 2021’s Spell 31, recorded during Covid, the duo sounded more confident than ever, featuring captivating vocals and transcendent arrangements which accentuate the spiritual elements that underscore their music. The album also came with a refined vision for their music, with Lisa explaining “we felt that the new album and the new phase of our life had to be aligned with how we felt now. And so, we took time to write songs that healed us and also write songs to celebrate those last 10 years and the things that are important for us.” 

Ibeyi’s most recent album, Offering (released in June through their music label, IBEYI RECORDS), is bolder, bigger, and more captivating than their previous releases, merging ancient themes with complex beats, divine harmonies, and dark distortion. The duo have mastered a balance between mysticism and edge, towing the line between euphoria and doom while chanting urgently about an ocean deity on opener “Olukun,” fusing celestial R&B with industrial aggression on “Mosh Pit,” and beautifully weaving together their heavenly vocals on the chill-inducing “Good Life.” The duo will be featuring these new songs and more on their upcoming tour of which they have said “we are so proud of the live show we are building. It will be just two of us on stage, stronger, more intimate and more alive than ever! These live shows are our offerings.”
