King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard at Forest Hills Stadium on August 20th-22nd and Under the K Bridge Park on August 23rd

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard exclusively in NYC this summer! After putting on their own musical festival in Colorado in August, the genre-defying band will be playing two back to back rock shows at Forest Hills Stadium on August 20th and 21st with support from Die Spitz and DJ Crenshaw. They will then go on to play two rave shows in support of their upcoming EDM album, Alien Metal, on August 22nd at Forest Hills with moktar opening and August 23 at Under the K Bridge Park with .VRIL opening.

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard was formed in 2010 in Melbourne, Victoria and consists of vocalist, guitarist, and flute player Stu Mackenzie, keyboardist, saxophonist, and harmonica player Ambrose Kenny-Smith, guitarist and keyboardist Joey Walker, bassist Lucas Harwood, and drummer Michael Cavanagh. The band has released a whopping 28 studio albums throughout their 15 year career, beginning with 2012’s self-recorded garage-rock album, 12 Bar Bruise. Unwilling to back down from a challenge, they committed to (and succeeded in) releasing five studio albums in both 2017 and 2022. Known for their bold exploration of genre, they have dabbled in garage rock, psychedelic rock, jazz fusion, prog rock, microtonal, heavy metal, thrash metal, folk, orchestral, and synth-pop to name a few. Despite their immense range, their albums are united by Stu Holden’s unwavering vocals and the band’s virtuosic ability to lock into extremely tight, long-winding grooves and change musical gears on the fly. Their impressively robust discography is also tied together by what fans have dubbed The Gizzverse, an interconnected universe portrayed throughout the band’s albums joined by recurring themes, characters, motifs, visuals, and more (Holden himself has confirmed that the albums take place in coexisting parallel universes).

King Gizzard’s eclectic spirit shines through on 2016’s Nonagon Infinity which was designed to playable in an endless loop and 2017’s Polygondwanaland which they encouraged fans to press their own records of. The band has won many music awards including ARIA Awards for Best Rock Album and Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album, as well as the inaugural Environmental Music Award in 2022 for their track and video, “If Not Now, Then When?” from which they donated their entire $20,000 award to The Wilderness Society. The band also hosted their very own music festival, Gizzfest, from 2015 to 2018 designed to put promoting power in the hands of the artists which toured across Australia and featured local groups signed to the band’s independent music label, Flightless Records (the band now releases music through their new label, (p)doom Records). In 2025, in conjunction with their new album Phantom Island, the band created Field of Vision, a three-day, community camping-centered festival in Buena Vista, Colorado. The band’s most recent generic exploration sees them making their first deep-dive into EDM on the upcoming, Alien Metal, from which they have released the track, “Level 5.” After putting on Field of Vision II on August 14th-16th, King Gizzard will travel to NYC for four-straight nights of shows, beginning with all-encompassing sets the first two nights and concluding with EDM centered rave shows for the second two nights.
