Vince Staples at Brooklyn Steel on October 27th

Vince Staples announces North American tour with full live band in support of his new album, Cry Baby, arriving in NYC on October 27th with a show at Brooklyn Steel.

Born in 1993 in Long Beach, California, Staples began rapping when he was teenager, appearing on projects by members of alternative hip-hop collective Odd Future. After a series of successful mixtapes, he released his first album, Summertime ‘06, in 2015 which included the platinum-certified single, “Norf Norf.” The album itself debuted at number 39 on the Billboard Top 200 list and Evan Rytlewski of online newspaper A.V. Club described it as “a major triumph disguised as a minor one—60 minutes of lean, inventive, important rap music that never pats itself on the back for being any of those things.” Unafraid to experiment with genre, Staples took a step into electronica on his second album, Big Fish Theory, receiving critical acclaim for its avant-garde fusion of hip-hop with techno, house, and experimental club music.

Doubling as a radio host and actor, Vince Staples’ infectious personality shines through in music with his conversational vocal delivery and uncompromising lyricism featuring blunt and thought-provoking observations about the world around him. His latest album, Cry Baby, (released earlier this month) captures the tension, absurdity, and emotional weight of American life in 2026, drawing on personal experience for revealing political commentary. His first release as an independent artist, the album continues to push the envelope of hip-hop, leaning into a fuzzy post-punk and noise rock sound. The Cry Baby Tour promises to feature Staples’ commanding stage presence and high-energy spirit, previewed by his electric release-day show at Los Angeles’ El Rey Theatre.
