Jimmy Eat World hits the road again this summer! Alternative rock heroes celebrate the 25th anniversary of their iconic 2001 album, Bleed American, with support from a wide range of acts at each stop ranging from Jay Som to Mom Jeans. The U.S. leg of the tour kicks off in early June and will reach NYC with back-to-back shows at two of the city’s most exciting venues: June 16th at Brooklyn Paramount (with The Get Up Kids and Hey Mercedes) and June 17th at The Rooftop at Pier 17 (with Thrice and Girls Against Boys).
Jimmy Eat World is a four-piece alternative rock band consisting of guitarist and vocalist Jim Adkins, drummer Zach Lind, bassist Rick Burch, and guitarist Tom Linton. Formed in 1993 in Mesa, Arizona, the band quickly became an integral member of the underground emo scene, releasing three albums in six years: Jimmy Eat World, Static Prevails, and Clarity. Following their initial underground success, Bleed American changed everything. Released in 2001, the album launched the band to international acclaim and solidified them among the pantheon of essential alternative rock artists.
25 years later, Jimmy Eat World remains as relevant and beloved as ever before. The band dedicates this tour to the fans that have made their incredible career possible and seeks to approach it with the newfound perspective they’ve gained from decades of touring experience. Guitarist and lead singer, Jim Adkins, says, “I feel like at this time in our lives, especially for me, it’s important to get back to a place that you can savor. This tour is designed to be an elevated version of our show, a heightened experience with production that reflects 25 years of learning how to stretch artistically in the live environment.”
With the band promising to play the entirety of Bleed American at every stop in addition to countless other hits, this tour is one you won’t want to miss. Go see one of the best alternative rock bands of the last thirty years bring this incredible album to life in NYC at Brooklyn Paramount on June 16th and The Rooftop at Pier 17 on June 17th.
