French artist Christine and the Queens collaborated with fellow French artist Cerrone on a new single, “Catching Feelings.” A video for the single, directed by Christine and the Queens, is available on the artist’s YouTube channel.

Described as “a luminous, organic pop-disco track filled with raw, modern emotion,” the track features a very catchy, funky and upbeat instrumental, with Cerrone’s disco influences on full display. Christine and the Queens takes over on vocals as well as being the music video’s main focus. The video showcases him singing the track in the studio, dancing in a tracksuit in front of a mirror and in a strange messy suit with elongated gloves and a bag over his head. He sings and moves along to the track in a sometimes odd but always enticing manner.

The track’s lyrics encourage the listener to “take a chance,” and to not be afraid of “catching feelings for me.” The romantic nature of the song parallels the collaboration sparked between the two after both performed in parts of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The song is described as a “fusion of musical heritage,” in itself a love child of taking a chance with blending two musical stylings. The track is described as “a unique crossover between the legacy of disco and a completely liberated approach to desire and intimacy,” adding that it “expresses a form of intimacy that is free, joyful and fully embraced. Disco becomes a platform for contemporary expression, fluid and attuned to the realities of desire and emancipation. It’s where influences don’t just blend—they evolve.”

Steven Taylor: Hello, I'm Steven! I'm a graduate of Seton Hall University. I majored in journalism, with a minor in Public Relations. I've always had a passion for the arts and creative fields. Writing especially is an area I've always found myself gravitating towards, between assignments in class, working for the school newspaper or just writing in my spare time. I love providing and hearing new perspectives. In addition to my studies and work in writing, I work part-time at after-school and summer programs for my local elementary school. I've been a part of these programs since I was in high school, and I've even been assigned to work one-to-one with children with special needs. I like to think that if I'm able to communicate well with children in the 2nd grade, then I can communicate well with most adults too!
