Paul McCartney has just announced a second night of his day-of concert last night, at the Bowery Ballroom. The show, being billed as ‘Paul McCartney ROCKS THE BOWERY’, has been extended. Last night, his show at the Bowery fit at most 575 people. McCartney was had a grin on his face while enjoying the surprise show he had planned, “So, here we are. Some little gig. New York. Why not?” Tickets were sold on a first come first served basis and sold out within 30 minutes. At last night’s show, McCartney played an acoustic version of Blackbird and reflected on how he wrote the track for the Civil Rights Movement that was occurring during his first trip to the United States. Paul was in New Orleans on Sunday and seems to be part of the lineup for Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary concert and special. We are unsure as to whether or not McCartney will have another performance at the Bowery, but we are blessed to have had both two performances, as well as his upcoming SNL return.
