X-Cops brings ear-bleeding and versatile noise on XCAB.

According to metalsucks.net, X-Cops is rumored to comprise members from GWAR, Rigor Mortis, and Darkest Hour. Despite not knowing who the members are, the band can dazzle people’s minds with their musical talent. X-Cops’s last album, You Have Rights To Remain Silent, was released in 1995, and now, the band has dropped their new EP, XCAB. Overall, the EP is pretty good because each track brings a solid rock, punk, and metal vibe that can cause many people to headbang while the music blares from their speakers. XCAB proves how X-Cops are still capable of creating dynamic music.

Kicking the EP off is “We’re The Pigs,” what is good about this ditty is how the instrumentation brings a killer musical style of thrash metal inside a hard rock world. The best part is hearing the lead guitarist sizzling the atmosphere with wild guitar riffs and solos contributing to the endless madness of “We’re The Pigs.”

Thanks to the drum playing and vocal performance, “Kinderhardened” is a different composition. Right off the bat, insane drumbeats can be heard shaking the background with a hard punk musical style, while the vocalist uses his attitude to shoot out the deep and honest lyrics that match our society.

“Conflict Management” is a straight-up vein jolter because the X-Cops are playing on a higher and deeper musical tempo that brings a bold and metal vibe. But what shines on this ditty is hearing the vocalist talking out the lyrics with great power. In ways, the vocalist makes it feel like he and the band are protesting to people about who they are as a band. “Conflict Management” is filled with top-notch musical creativity.

What is really great about XCAB is hearing the band cover The Police’s tune, “Next To You.” Honestly, X-Cops have done a fine job with their version of a classic song. The original version of “Next To You” is lovely because The Police brings a lovey late-70s rock style, whereas X-Cops turns the whole tune around with an earth-shattering punk vibe that sees the vocalist screaming out the chorus with great musical passion.

Closing out the EP is “Light ‘Em Up,” what is enjoyable about the whole thing is hearing X-Cops mixing rock and metal to create a catchy musical vibe that can cause people to sing along. The drum and guitar play give this number a strong taste of badassery, while the vocalist uses his deep and dominant voice to yell the catchy lyrics.

Although the EP only has five songs, each tune demonstrates how X-Cops can still dazzle people’s minds with their clever musical skills.
