Meshuggah, the Swedish extreme metal band formed in Umeå in 1987, is coming to New York. Since 2004, the band’s lineup consists of founding members Jens Kidman and Fredrik Thordendal, alongside rhythm guitarist Mårten Hagström, drummer Tomas Haake and bassist Dick Lövgren. The bands’ tour will kick off in Quebec City on March 28th at the Videotron Centre. According to Knotfest, the tour will be a 20-date trek and include stops at some of the region’s most prestigious venues with featured plays at The Kia Forum, ACL Live in Austin, TX and Madison Square Garden. Meshuggah plans to be accompanied by both Cannibal Corpse and Carcass. Presale for the tour began on Thursday December 5th, while general on-sale took place on Friday, December 6th. The tour, produced by Live Nation, will travel through the U.S, as well as Canada. Their last show will be on April 24 in New York, at Madison Square Garden. Tickets to this show are still on sale, and selling for as cheap as $91 USD.
