L’Imperatrice, a french-pop and nu-disco band is set to take off on their world tour and make a pit stop for a performance in Chicago at the Aragon Ballroom on Jan. 25, 2025, with opener Night Tapes. The band is celebrating their latest album, Pulsar which was released this past June 2024.
L’Imperatrice got their start in Paris in 2012. The band was founded by keyboardist Charles de Boisseguin. The current members include keyboardist Hagni Gwon, bassist David Gaugué, electric guitarist Achille Trocellier, and drummer Tom Daveau. Vocalist Flore Benguigui joined the band in 2015. She left this past year and was replaced by Louve.
Their first piece of music was a self-titled, EP, released in 2012. They released four more singles until the release of their first studio album, Matahari, in 2019. In total, they have released three studio albums, eight EPs, and 31 singles including their hit “Everything Eventually Ends” featuring Rejjie Snow.
The band is known for the combination of electronic and French dance music with a twist of pop persuasion. The band has been through many ups and downs together but continues to pursue their passion for making music.
