Devin Townsend will be at Palladium Times Square on May 9th

Devin Townsend, the Canadian singer & songwriter who founded the extreme metal band Strapping Young Lad, is coming to New York this May. This tour will be Townsend’s first North American tour since 2020. The tour will take place in May of 2025 and will feature an appearance at Milwaukee Metal Fest. According to Blabbermouth.net, Devin said “PowerNerd’ is essentially manifesto of working through the problems that you face in life. And the definition of it had originally been — there are certain personality traits or proclivities that one may have that perhaps society deems as being a weakness, whether or not that’s empathy or hypersensitivity or something.” The album came out on October 25th and presale for the shows began on November 20th. Meanwhile, tickets for the general public went on sale last Friday, November 22nd. The tour will begin in Nashville on May 2nd, and wrap up in Los Angeles on May 23rd. Tickets to the New York show at Palladium Times Square on May 9th are still on sale, and selling for as cheap as $63 USD.
