Born in Switzerland and raised in Nashville, Soccer Mommy has profoundly impacted the indie rock genre. With the release of her 6th studio album, Evergreen, she sets for a tour with a stop in Chicago on Feb. 6, 2024. She will perform at Thalia Hall with opener Tomberlin.
Born Sophie Regina Allison, Soccer Mommy got her start with music very early on in her life. She began playing guitar at the age of 6. She attended the Nashville School of the Arts, a specialty school where she studied guitar and was even apart of the school’s swing band. She then attended NYU, where she majored in music business and English.
During her time in New York, she began to play shows around the city under her stage name, Soccer Mommy. She dropped out of college after two years and signed with a record label in 2017. Her first album, For Young Hearts, was released the year before in 2016, gaining her the attention to be signed.
In her years as a signed musician, she has produced much music. She has 19 singles, three EPs, and six albums. She has worked and collaborated with many artists, including Jay Som, Paramore, Kacey Musgraves, Phoebe Bridgers, Liz Phair, and many, many more.
