Amyl and the Sniffers are coming to The Rooftop at Pier 17 on May 15th

Amyl and the Sniffers, an Australian pub rock and punk band formed in Melbourne, is coming to New York this spring. The band just recently released their new studio album, Cartoon Darkness, on October 25th. The band consists of Singer and lyricist Amy Taylor, guitarist Declan Martens, bassist Gus Romer and drummer Bryce Wilson. In an article with Music Week, the band talks about their profanities and how staying authentic and true to their character has allowed them to evolve and flourish as group. Taylor said “But I don’t ever want people to stop seeing a woman on stage having fun, enjoying her life and just being free, being able to laugh and appreciate style, dressing up and glamour. I think a lot of people expect me to be able to hold the fort for everybody and I’m happy to, but I also want to do that by saying, ‘Hey, bitches, you can just have fun tonight.” The tour is set to take off in Ireland on November 5th, finish off in New Zealand on February 16th, and kick back off again in Oregon on March 25th. Tickets to the New York show on May 15th at Rooftop at Pier 17 will go on sale, tomorrow November 1st, at 10AM.
