Sepultura’s 40-year farewell tour hit Palladium Times Square with all the intensity that fans have come to expect from the Brazilian metal legends. From the opening riffs, the crowd erupted into mosh pits while chants of “Sepultura!” echoed throughout the venue. What made this night special wasn’t just the music, though the performance was incredible. It was the emotional connection between the band and their fans that stood out. It felt like a heartfelt goodbye like old friends coming together one last time. Sepultura took the audience through their extensive discography, playing a mix of older classics like “Arise” and “Refuse/Resist” along with more recent songs. The chemistry between the band members was undeniable, something that can only come from decades of playing together. They closed the night with “Roots Bloody Roots,” and as the final notes rang out, it was clear this was a triumphant farewell.
