Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter and British rock sensation Sting is set to perform in Chicago at the Auditorium Theatre for two nights on Oct. 28 & 29. The Sting 3.0 Tour kick starts today, Oct. 15, in Washington.
English rock superstar and icon Sting has had a long and plentiful career in the music industry. He gained worldwide recognition during the years he was performing with The Police from 1977 until they disbanded in 1986. Sting was the frontman, bassist, and songwriter for this new wave band that took hold of the world during the time. He is also known for his work in activism and human rights.
Sting began his solo career in 1985 with the release of his first album, The Dream Of The Blue Turtles. Within the same year, he also released two singles and released a live album of his performance at Live Aid 1985.
He has won numerous awards and accolades, including 17 Grammys and a Song of the Year award for the song “Every Breath You Take” (1983). In 2019, he even won a BMI again for the same song as it became the most-played song in radio history.
His discography is lengthy and plentiful. He has released 15 studio albums, and even more if live albums, compilations, and remastered works are included. He has also released 46 singles and four EPs.
