LCD Soundsystem, the American electronic rock band from Brooklyn, formed in 2002, is returning to New York this fall. They have planned an extravaganza which will include a space for opening bands, afterparties with DJs, and a natural wine bar pop-up. James Murphy took to social media to reminisce on the groups last visit to NY, remembering how well received the bands’ efforts were, that it reminded him of the New York he moved into in the late 80s. He shared, “so we’re doubling down on the neighborhood party vibes and playing 12 shows, with different band each weekend, 4 horsemen action, djs, and a dfa records swap-meet record store pop up. we can’t wait. I think this will be the best bunch of parties yet!” The three bands that are planned to accompany LCD Soundsystem on stage, over the course of multiple weeks, are Poolside, Gustaf, and Fcukers. The DJ lineup for the show is yet to be announced, but is highly anticipated, in terms of the elevated energy that is being offered for the residency. According to Pitchfork, “This marks the fourth year in a row that LCD Soundsystem have thrown a New York residency, following shows in 2021, 2022, and 2023—although the first of those was cut short due to surge of COVID-19 rates.” It is evident that Maspeth, Queens is going to be having quite an electric couple of weeks, that will be curated and tailored to the audience that has supported LCD Soundsystem throughout the years. Those who have interest in the uproar that is about to be heard, can purchase tickets through Vividseats, which went on sale on September 26th. Tickets to the residency are still on sale, and selling for about $127 USD. for General Admission. There’s no doubt that this will be an event, most won’t want to miss.
