Album Review: Wolfheart – Draconian Darkness

This album brings forth earth-shaking noise.

Death metal band Wolfheart has been raising hell since 1993 and now, the band has released the album, Draconian Darkness. As a whole, the album is fantastic. The instrumentation smacks the background with solid ear-bleeding sound, while the strong vocal performance dazzles the mind with sharp and powerful vocal tones. For those who enjoy death metal, Draconian Darkness will fulfill the need to hear blistering metal music.

Kicking things off is “Ancient Cold” and the best part is hearing the violent melodies blend in with sizzling music. Right at the beginning, the sound of deep melodies can be heard delightfully chiming in the background before Wolfheart delivers the soul-shaking music. “Ancient Cold” just proves how hungry the band is for creating pure metal music.

Another great tune is “Burning Sky,” which right off the bat, the harmonic guitar playing can be heard shaking the background before the musical madness starts. Then, the insanity arrives. The music becomes classic death and thrash metal that lingers inside the enchanting melodies. “Burning Sky” is a straight-up head-banger that is mixed in the elements of a diverse metal vibe.

“Grave” is a unique ditty because the piano at the beginning balances the song out before Wolfheart blasts the ears with face-smacking music. Another great part is hearing the vocalist use his deep voice to express his thoughts. Through each shriek, the feeling of hatred can be felt, while the music continues to rage and wreak havoc in the background on “Grave.”

“Trial By Fire” is a killer composition, thanks to the band creating thrash metal sounds that blend with the lingering insanity. The sounds of guitar and drum playing bring a strong resemblance of Iron Maiden before the high-strung melodies blissfully echo in the darkness. “Trial By Fire” shows how Wolfheart is not afraid to show people how they are capable of performing different versions of metal.

Draconian Darkness is a great album because the band is able to create deep melodies that successfully blend in with their musical style. Surely the music will captivate those who are willing to hear the deep-moving music.
