The American rock band, formed in New York City in 2006, is planning to return to their old stomping grounds. Lead vocalist and guitarist Ezra Koenig formed the band alongside multi-instrumentalist Rostam Batmanglij, drummer Chris Tomson, and bassist Chris Baio. The band, most known for hits like ‘Mansard Roof’ and ‘A-Punk’, took off in 2008 with their debut album Vampire Weekend. In April, the band most recently released their fifth studio album, Only God Was Above Us. According to Pitchfork, the album “feels new and comfortable, regularly elegant and charming, calm and comforting, and, at times, foreboding. And just bit worried.” It was referred to as the most honest album of the bands and shows what the group does best, melodically and instrumentally. The tour is set to kick off tomorrow, September 23rd at Meadowbrook Amphitheatre in Rochester Hills, MI. They plan to tour the states until late November, when they will take the tour on its European leg to Dublin, and finish off in Amsterdam on December 15th. Tickets to the October 5th show at Madison Square Garden are still on sale, and selling for as cheap as $25 USD. on Stub hub.
