Alex Ross Perry has created an experimental musical biopic concert film about the American indie band, Pavement. The film consists of scripted scenes, documentary footage of the band, and musical stage play consisting of the groups’ discography. The film is scheduled to screen next week at The New York Film Festival and will be released to the public by Utopia in Spring 2025. Before the bands separation in 1999, they released five albums that paved generations, Slanted And Enchanted (1992), Crooked Rain (1994), Wowee Zowee (1995), Brighten The Corners (1997) and Terror Twilight (1999). Mark Ibold, Scott “Spiral Stairs” Kannberg, Stephen Malkmus, Bob Nastanovich and Steve West formed the indie rock group in Stockton, California, in 1989.
