Kings of Leon at Huntington Bank Pavilion on Sept. 28

Kings of Leon are to perform at Huntington Bank Pavilion on Sept. 28 in celebration of the release of their new album, Can We Please Have Fun (2024). They will be joined by opener Phantogram.

Since their start in 1999, they have created a sensation of the early 2000s in alternative rock, indie rock, and garage rock genres. The band consists of three brothers alongside their cousin and they are originally from Tennessee. The members are frontman Caleb Followill on vocals and rhythm guitar, Jared Followill on bass, keyboard, and background vocals, Matthew Followill on lead guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals, and Nathan Followill on drums, percussion, and, of course, backing vocals.

The band had a slow start in the early stages of their career. Their first studio album, Youth And Young ManHood was released in 2003, followed by Aha Shake Heartbreak (2005), and Because Of The Times (2007.) They then took a running jump with the release of their fourth album, Only By The Night (2008).

Only By The Night (2008) was an immediate commercial and radio success. The album contains “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody”, songs that became chart toppers.  It was incredibly influential in the early 2000s rock genre and made them household names.

In total, Kings of Leon has produced and released nine albums, 12 singles, and four EPs.
