Album Review: Teeth – The Will of Hate

This album brings high-powered vibes.

Sludge metal band Teeth has been raising musical havoc since 2013 and since then, the band has released four albums. Now, Teeth is gearing up to release the album, The Will of Hate. Each track is fantastic, the instrumentation and vocal performance shake the background with a heart-jolting sound. The Will of Hate continues the legacy of what sludge metal should still sound like.

Starting things off “Bright” — is great. The guitar playing creates electric notes that bring the soul-shaking metal vibe. Throughout the whole thing, the lead guitarist performs fast-paced riffs, while the bass guitar is blissfully blaring in the background. Surely some people will be head-banging to this ditty as the music continues to dazzle their minds.

“Prison” is musically harder but the guitar solo at the beginning steals the show because of how each note brings a solid classic rog vibe within Teeth’s dark and mysterious world. Also, the drum playing is another great part because of how each rapid drum beat contributes the high-strung energy that can be felt on “Prison.”

Another fantastic number is “Apparition”. What shines brightly on this number is the vocalist’s sinister growls of hatred and anger. While listening, the singer does a fantastic job of creating deep and low vocal tones that match the seriousness of this theme and each vocal growl on “Apparition” brings more insanity and wickedness.

“Seethe” is a piece that has a nice blend of loud metal and rock music but, what shines is once again, the vocalist. The whole vocal performance is phenomenal. The vocalist shrieks out the lyrics with his deep growl and also, the vocal style does blend in with the loud harmonic style the rest of the band is creating.

The Will of Hate not only shows how much Teeth has grown as a band but the album also proves how sludge metal can survive in today’s music world with pure vein-jolting music.
