Black metal band In Aphelion has been dazzling minds with their musical talent since 2020, now the band has released Reaperdawn. Each track on the album consists of loud and harmonic instrumentation that blends in with the dark theme, the vocal performance is fabulous by how each vocal tone delivers heartfelt feelings. On Reaperdawn, In Aphelion shows how black metal can thrive in today’s music world.
Kicking things off is “The Fields in Nadir,” and as a whole, the ditty consists of heavy guitar playing that dominates the whole energetic performance with thrilling riffs that blend in with the power melody. Also, the guitar playing brings a feeling of being lost inside of a work that is constantly dark and lonely. “The Fields in Nadir” bleeds black metal thanks to the talented guitarist.
“The Darkening” is a musically heavier composition, the drum playing creates an even louder noise that resembles the lingering insanity inside the band’s universe. Right away, thunderous drum beats can be heard shaking the background, while the vocal performance continues to cause havoc on “The Darkening.”
Another great ditty “Further From The Sun,” is truly enjoyable to hear the lead vocalist scream and grumble out the lyrics in pure rage. While listening, the feels of anger and hopelessness can be felt through each vocal tone, the vocalist shows how he is still capable of vocally performing quality metal music by sharing his feelings on “Further From The Sun.”
“Aghori” is a slower harmonic tune that brings a bluesy feeling of being lost in life. What is great about the whole thing is hearing how the instrumentation creates a musical vibe that consists of melodic sounds before switching to pure metal music. The vocal performance is fabulous with each growl contributing to bittersweet music on “Aghori.”
